About Sarah

Sarah Kay (she/her) is a Southern California native who never imagined entering the world of theater. Growing up, Sarah dabbled in many hobbies including track & field, volleyball, and mock trial. In high school, Sarah found a love for Science and founded the GEMS (Girls Excelling in Math and Science) Club and was president of HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) Club in hopes of entering the STEM field as a career. In 2018, Sarah attended the University of California, Santa Barbara as a Biology major.

The quandary of joining a STEM research program at UCSB or trying out for a community theater production before going to college changed the way Sarah saw her future. After deciding to do theater one last time before college, Sarah found that storytelling was a passion too strong to stray away from.

While attending UCSB, Sarah auditioned for BFA programs with no prior training and found a home in Pace University’s BFA Musical Theater Class of ‘23. She moved to NYC in 2019 and has been adamant about creating a solid foundation for her storytelling through acting, singing, and dance classes. Before graduating, Sarah joined the Original Broadway Cast of Here Lies Love as the TV reporter and Imelda/ Maria Luisa understudy.

Outside of theater, Sarah loves to bake, spend time outdoors, write R&B music, and watch stand-up comedy. You can see more of her personal life down below!
